Murray E. Abowitz is the founding partner of Abowitz & Welch, a predecessor of Abowitz, Timberlake & Dahnke, P.C. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and Seton Hall Law School. Mr. Abowitz practices nationally and has served as regional counsel for companies in asbestos, medical device and general litigation. He has also served as national punitive damages counsel and has been court-appointed Liaison Counsel in complex federal litigation.
Mr. Abowitz has been admitted to practice in numerous state and federal courts and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Abowitz is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers U.S.A., America's Leading Lawyers for Business, is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has served as the Chairman of its Legal Ethics Committee. Mr. Abowitz is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, having served as the President of its Oklahoma Chapter. He is also a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and has served as the Chairman of its Professional Liability Committee. Mr. Abowitz was appointed a Special Prosecutor before the Oklahoma Court of the Judiciary, removing a sitting Judge for oppression in office.
